Cookie Policy

Effective Date: [Insert launch date]

Last updated: This policy may be updated if analytics or additional cookies are introduced.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They allow websites to remember information about your visit, such as your login session, preferences, or how you interacted with the site.

2. Essential Cookies

Wafeed uses essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to function. Without these cookies, you would not be able to log in or navigate the dashboard.

Authentication and session cookies

When you log in, Supabase Auth sets a session cookie to keep you authenticated between page loads. This cookie is deleted when you log out or when the session expires.

CSRF protection

Some server-side requests may use tokens to protect against cross-site request forgery. These are not persistent cookies and are cleared when you close your browser or complete the associated action.

3. Preference Cookies

We may store user interface preferences (such as your chosen language or dashboard settings) in your browser's local storage or as cookies. These help us remember your choices across sessions.

4. Analytics Cookies

We do not currently use non-essential analytics or tracking cookies in Wafeed. No third-party analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics) are loaded on the platform at this time.

If analytics or tracking tools are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated and appropriate consent mechanisms will be implemented before non-essential cookies are set.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Wafeed does not directly set third-party advertising or tracking cookies. However:

  • Supabase (our database and authentication provider) may set cookies necessary for session management.
  • If you follow an external link (such as a Google review link), that third-party site may set its own cookies governed by their cookie policy.

6. Public Feedback Pages

Customers visiting a public feedback page (at wafeed.co/r/...) do not need to be logged in and are generally not subject to session cookies. The feedback form is server-rendered and does not require authentication. No tracking or analytics cookies are set on public feedback pages.

7. Managing Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to your Wafeed account.

Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We will update this Cookie Policy if we introduce new cookies or tracking technologies. Where non-essential cookies are introduced, appropriate consent notices will be implemented. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
